This blog is about sanity.
We're not grumpy cynics, nor are we blind optimists. We're relatively normal, Christian guys at a conservative college trying to better understand the world around us, and how our faith factors into it. We like discussing the really thorny social problems of society and figuring how we as Christians should respond.
We're not liberals, nor are we part of the far-right fringe. We care about politics, but we care more about freedom. We watch South Park and Jon Stewart, read CNN and The Economist, and think about the views we're being offered. We read both President Obama's books and Sarah Palin's books, and are comfortable recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of both sides.
Sometimes, we get angry. We get angry when people twist our faith into an agent of manipulation, sacrificing the truth of the Bible's message for expediency. We get angry when people blindly believe what they're told without truly assessing and analyzing it, and especially when they try to force others to adopt their similar views. We get angry when Christian love is sacrificed on the altar of well-intentioned, horribly misguided self-righteousness.
So, if our blog must have a motto, let this be it: "Think, for God's sake!"
